Renewal by Andersen Renovates U.S. Army's Fort Knox Facility in Kentucky

Renewal by Andersen installs new windows at world-renowned Fort Knox and donates to USA Cares to support military veterans.

Renewal by Andersen recently completed a major renovation at the U.S. Army’s Fort Knox facility in Kentucky.

Over the course of six weeks, the team at Renewal by Andersen of Kentucky—Greater Louisville installed 343 new windows in the Cadet Command building at the world-renowned U.S. Army base near Louisville, marking the company’s largest installation on a major U.S. Military property. Andersen® A-Series windows were chosen for their durability and aesthetic; they meet strict product specifications while also preserving the historic and architectural integrity of the building.

“We’re honored to serve the people who protect our freedom with a superior product installed by the best people in the industry,” said Troy Barrow, president of Renewal by Andersen. “Not only do these windows meet the rigorous standards of the U.S. Army, but they look great and will help keep everyone inside safe and comfortable. This unique installation demonstrates how during demanding projects, Renewal by Andersen is able to provide the Andersen family of products.”

“What better way to improve the world one window at a time than to have the honor of protecting the buildings of the people who protect our freedom. Not only will this be a potential long-lasting relationship, but it provides a model for Renewal by Andersen locations across the country to provide similar solutions for other military bases,” said Tim Helfrich, president  of Renewal by Andersen of Kentucky.

While working on this project, Renewal by Andersen learned about the Kentucky-based non-profit organization USA Cares, which provides post-9/11 military veterans, service members, and their families with emergency financial assistance and post-service skills training to create a foundation for long-term stability. Keeping with their tradition of supporting communities where team members live and work, a donation of $25,000 was presented to USA Cares on behalf of Renewal by Andersen, Andersen Corporation, and locally-based retailer Renewal by Andersen of Kentucky—Greater Louisville.

“We look forward to working with USA Cares to help attract military servicemembers for potential job opportunities within Andersen Corporation and Renewal by Andersen. This partnership will help expand our initiatives to support service members, veterans, and military families across the country,” said Missy Smutny, chair of Andersen Corporation’s Military Connections Employee Resource Network.

“We have a long-standing tradition of recognizing military servicemembers and veterans within our company and our communities, making this project, and this donation particularly meaningful to us,” Barrow said.

“These funds enable us to provide immediate assistance to men and women who have bravely fought for our country, whether that be basic provisions such as food and water or preventing evictions and foreclosures. At USA Cares, our services improve the quality of life for veterans and their families and reduce potential factors that can contribute to veteran suicide,” said Trace Chesser, USA Cares president amd CEO.

Renewal by Andersen’s goal is to continue working with the U.S. Armed Forces to support building improvements and renovations on military bases across the country.
