Renewal by Andersen of Indianapolis Hosts Paddles for Paws

Indianapolis gives back to furry friends with Paddles for Paws.

The team at renewal by Andersen of Indianapolis has a knack for blending competitive fun with heartfelt causes. One of their most recent "competitive cause activities" was a Paddles for Paws ping-pong tournament to raise money for the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).

The idea was sparked when JP Perez, Director of Risk and Compliance for Renewal by Andersen of Indianapolis that he was unbeatable at ping pong.

That, of course, got everyone's competitive spirits soaring and the creative wheels started spinning, and, within no time, the team had a full-on table tennis tournament going! For a nearly six-week stretch the summer of 2024, every Friday, Perez took on five teammates at the ping pong table. If he won, Renewal by Andersen of Indianapolis donated $25 dollars to the ASPCA. And if his opponent won? They doubled the prize to $50!Close up image of a black dog holding a green tennis ball with "Renewal by Andersen" printed on the ball.

Special guests came out to the event to play and cheer on the team, including managers from other locations, a former professional tennis player, and the Renewal by Andersen Midwest Group's president, Keith Hicks.

The tournament also included a 50/50 raffle. Team members could purchase tickets for $1 each to vote on whether they believed Perez would win the majority of the games that day or if his opponent would. At the end of each tournament day, a raffle ticket was drawn from the winning box. The lucky ticket winner received half of the ticket proceeds and the other half was donated to the ASPCA. In total, the event raised $1,725 for the ASPCA!

To make the event even more exciting, the team purchased Renewal by Andersen branded tennis balls as giveaways for teammates (and their pups)—and then donated all the rest to a local animal shelter.

“The energy, enthusiasm, and sportsmanship displayed by everyone—humans and dogs alike—made this event truly special,” says Celina Stout, Renewal Cares Ambassador for the location.

Thank you, Renewal by Andersen of Indianapolis for making a difference in fun and meaningful ways!
